I’ve done a lot of kitchen updates over the past few years, and the past few weeks especially! I think I finally tackled the largest, and last, kitchen project for a while: a backsplash with smart tile.
I used Smart Tile and it was super easy. It’s slightly cheaper than regular tile as well. It’s thin and easy to cut to size. You just clean the surface, peel the tile, and stick! It comes off easily with a blow dryer if needed. Putting this backsplash up took about a few hours. It was sort of like a puzzle, especially working around the outlets. There are some imperfections, but overall I love it! My kitchen looks so different now!
One thing I will say is that you’ll need more tile than you think! I had to run out to Home Depot halfway through for more and even need two more sheets tomorrow to finish a small area. Trimming the tile to work around outlets and stuff means you’ll need more square inches then you may have originally thought. Just keep your receipt and return what you don’t use!
Over the past two years my kitchen has had some big changes: new granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. Over the past few weeks I’ve done a lot of small DIY projects that I think have amounted to some big changes: painted soffits and accent wall, new outlet and light switch plates, and backsplash. The before/after pictures are startling.
Have a great weekend!
