From The Readers: What Are You Thankful For?

What Are You Thankful For

This fall has flown by and it feels like Thanksgiving came out of nowhere. I have so much to be thankful for this year. The usual friends, family, home, and health, but this year also includes some unique things:

  • I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to try my dream job. It didn’t work out, but not everyone even gets a chance to try. I’m grateful I was in a position where I could take the risk.
  • I’m grateful for the lessons I learned this past summer while I was unemployed. It was truly a time to focus on myself and rebuild. While looking for a job of course.
  • I’m always thankful for my friends but this year they really came through for me. People came out of the woodwork and supported and encouraged me through my job search. And you all! The readers! So many of you came through with words of encouragement when I needed it the most last summer! I know I say it all the time, but I really am surrounded by amazing people.
  • This blogger community! Last fall I attended the MN Blogger Conference for the first time and discovered that there is a large and amazing community of bloggers all around me! Since then I’ve been able to attend several events, make new friends, and collaborate on projects such as MinsgameBOSS. Speaking of that community…

I polled the readers to find out what people are thankful for this year!

The wonderful MN blogger community! – Kati Rose

That’s simple – my daughter. The most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. – Katy

Having an amazing family. Truly and simply. – Michael

Blogging connections that get me thinking. I can’t stop thinking of the minsgame. I’m going to give it a try. I started it today! Family and friends. Pretty cliché, right? – Hannah from Eat, Drink, and Save Money

I’m thankful for family and the joy the little ones bring. – Emily of Urban Departures

Way too much actually. I’m thankful for my family, my health, my family’s health. I’m thankful for my work, my schooling, my friendships. I’m thankful for the roof over my head, the food in my fridge. I’m thankful for my pets who entertain me. I’m thankful for my life in general, all the good times and bad. – Mariette

My blog, job, family, friends and everything to come. – Abbie Katrina of The Pink Paperdoll

I am most thankful for my sisters and my fiancé. Without them, this life would be much more difficult. I am also very thankful to have a stable home to live in. – Jessie

  1. I’m thankful for my friends and family. Over Thanksgiving, one of my co-workers pointed out that we’re a pretty selfish group of people. We spend most of our lives traveling and aren’t great at commitments because of the nature of our work, but we have wonderful families and friends who are willing to put up with our absences. He managed to put into words much better a feeling that I’d noticed for a long time. And it made me doubly grateful for the amazing people in my life.
